Black Washed Wall

MGA was commissioned by the Hicks Co. to design and plan an adaptive re-use, converting a 5-story hotel into contemporary loft apartments.  Floors 2, 3, & 4 are one bedroom lofts, while floor 5 is two bedroom lofts, some with home offices.

HOTEL ANGELINA FLATS

This 7,850 sf building is the

Headquarters for the Angelina

& Neches River Authority. 

Features include a board room with media presentation equipment, office spaces, serving kitchen, ample record storage and a certified National Environmental Laboratory used

for testing.  The facility offers after hours access for sample drop-off and other deliveries.  In addition, secure, covered parking is provided for maintenance equipment.

ANGELINA & NECHES RIVER AUTHORITY

This project in downtown

Jasper helped revitalize the

area bringing in 400 new jobs. 

The new design added a second

floor to an existing building and modified the façade to blend with

the buildings around the

Courthouse Square.  The building required specialized high security areas for the tenant’s operation.  In contrast to the exterior, the interior

is an open concept with an

“industrial” feel to attract the

“tech savvy” personnel needed.

JASPER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

The Kids Depot is a 6,000 sf licensed daycare facility accommodating infants through 4 years as well as after school childcare programs. In addition to offices, features include: 

- learning activity rooms

- outdoor play spaces

- TDH compliant kitchen

KIDS DEPOT DAYCARE

The Premier Kia project

consisted of interior/exterior renovations updating it to meet current Kia standards.  These major modifications were made while allowing the dealership to remain open for business.

- Increased showroom size

- Expanded waiting areas

- More sales offices

- Service drop-off areas

- More parking lot lighting

PREMIER KIA DEALERSHIP RENOVATION

A 90 year old building in downtown Lufkin was converted from vacant office spaces into 4 contemporary loft apartments on the second floor and a brewery/restaurant on the first floor.  The adaptive re-use venue along with the Angelina Hotel lofts is a part of the Lufkin Downtown revitalization.

ANGELINA BREWING COMPANY

MGA was hired to design

an adaptive re-use project converting the former downtown Lufkin bus station into two retail spaces.  The original building featured an Art Deco Façade, which was retained, and incorporated a new street level storefront.  The interior features an exposed wood truss barrel vault roof/ceiling along with contemporary lighting.
